We don’t know. The year 1808, which can be seen on the front of the Clanwilliam Museum, refers to the year in which the town became a sub-district. The original building was erected long before then.

Yes, Tolla van der Merwe was born in Clanwilliam on August 21, 1943. Van der Merwe died on August 7, 2000 in a car accident.

The Clanwilliam Museum is open from Mondays to Fridays between the hours of 08:30 and 16:30. The Clanwilliam Museum is open on Saturdays between the hours of 09:00 and 12:00. On Sundays, the museum is closed.

However, during the flower season our operating hours may differ.

The entrance fees are R30 per person, R10 per teenager older than 12 years, and R5 per child 12 years and younger.
